1) Five
Islands- The water and the clouds above it, the beach and the rocks, sitting on
logs and finding pieces of sea glass. The waves stirred my soul and gave me the
peace that I always experience in their presence. A cute and relaxing little
retreat and the ideal place to stop on a summer afternoon drive.
2) Reese’s Bar- Chocolate and peanut butter in
chocolate bar form. Thick, rich and delicious. Probably
shouldn’t have eaten it. What can I say? Chocolate and peanut butter together
is my weakness.
3) Readymade
salads from Dole. These are so easy to make and healthy too. All I have to do
is put my salad on a plate and top it
with a dressing of my choice. Perfect as part of a summer lunch or meal.
4) Painting. I did a small painting when my
friend was visiting in the spring and enjoyed it. I’m certainly more of a
writer than I am a painter, but there is a tranquility to it that helps me to
relax. I picked up the paintbrushes for the second time this afternoon when I
had some time on my hands. What resulted was no masterpiece, but at least I was
able to capture a faint reflection of what I had envisioned in my imagination.
5) Summer
drives. I haven’t had the chance to be on the road that often, so I have really
enjoyed spending some time driving this week, listening to music with the
windows rolled down. Of course the song ‘Penny & Me’ was on my playlist. :)
