Happy 4th of July to all my American readers! I
just arrived from a road trip back to Halifax after a nice couple of days home.
It was an early day for me, and I almost drifted off to sleep a couple of times
on the way down. Yesterday, I went out
to Five Islands with my aunts and grandparents to visit my aunt Kathy at her
trailer. We sat out on her little porch and had snacks while her dog Lexie sat
underneath to keep cool. The flies started to bother me after a while, so I walked
down to the beach with my aunt Barb and my aunt Sharon. The water was beautiful
and sparkling in the sun and the tide was in. The clouds were huge in the sky
and took on all kinds of shapes I could imagine. We came across a couple of
guys with a canoe and Barb insisted on taking a picture of her small plush Koloa
sitting in it. His name is Bicky and she bought him while she was in Australia.
Her goal is to take his picture in as many places as possible. It’s a rather
amusing sight to witness.
I had a nice break from the city and it was very relaxing
being with my family. It’s always nice to return to your own place again and
get settled back into your routine. I hope that we have some cooler days ahead
of us, as that would certainly help to get my productivity back on track.
