Love Remains Vital

I can’t begin to explain the reasons that ignorance, distrust, hate and violence have been spreading fast across our headlines lately. We have allowed bad experiences prevent us from giving our trust to others, and who could blame us? Just think about the change we could make however, if we could let go and work with each other to bring positive movements back into the world. We can’t accomplish this all in one day, but great change most often begins with those small steps in the right direction.

Love remains vital to living. Sometimes we don’t realize that we need it as much as we need the air that we breathe. A life absent of love can stifle our creativity and leave us void of inspiration. When I create something, I need to put passion behind it, or my message won’t come through as I have desired. If I were to write without emotion, my words would be lacklustre at best. I think that this applies to a painting or a piece of music as well—art is the heart crying out, in joy or in sadness, with longing or despair. In so many ways, it serves as a tool to bring us back into the moment and what it means to truly feel alive.

Although we may not be able to put an end to all the pain in the world, we can contribute to the amount of love we put out into our universe. We can use our gifts to embrace and understand each other and perhaps take them out of the rain for a little while. Find what you do best and put all of your heart into it. Love is the vital force that gives us a continual purpose as long as we choose to live by it.
