This weekend I spent a couple of nights at home and
managed to spend time with everyone in my family. It was nice to take a short
break from the city, though a weekend is my limit these days. I find it to be
just the right amount of time to spend in my hometown, which doesn’t offer even
half of the entertainment here in Halifax. Family though, is the main reason
for my visits. I had a nice coffee chat with my Mom and spend a few hours keeping
my grandparents company on Saturday evening. My grandmother has a beautiful
house out in the country and I went out for a drive on my uncle’s four wheeler
with my Dad. We went around the hills a few times, and it was a fun and freeing
experience.
Fall is coming so it was cooler than the last time that I
was home and this made it more relaxing. I had some wonderful home cooked meals
and probably ate more than I usually do, but it was a nice break from working away
on my plans. I know that I probably talked too much, even though it’s hard to
keep up with my grandmother, but it’s always important to spend any time with
your family that you can. My next venture home will be for Thanksgiving, when
the leaves are turning lovely colors and I’ll be able to have a drive through
the pretty countryside.
